The winter started out more like a dry, cold summer. There was less precipitation in December than in July... We all did our best snow-dance, patiently waiting for puffs of white to blanket the town. First, the nordic trails are closed due to not enough snow and the very next day closed because of too much snow. Smiles were had by all, as a blizzard swept through bringing 55 inches in 3 days! Happy day!

55 inches, 3 days.

Stretching out the fishing season.
Every year, Adrian fishes the season to its bitter end. And that end seems to come later and later in the year, even if the conditions are described only as "fair".
Late December, we set out to fish Mecca Flats. As we pulled onto the dirt road next to the river, I realized I forgot my waders... I was so disappointed! Even so, it was hard not to enjoy the sun warm my face, or eagerly wait for Adrian to catch the "big" one, and run with Nina as she hunted ground squirrels.
I love days like this.

Slightly frosty with a side of clouds.
Last minute, I received a request for a short shoot for Miss Alyssa. The weather was kind enough to hold off from snowing, but not from the frost and gray skies! I had to work quickly so she wouldn't return home blue - complete with icicles. Alyssa's hands were frozen to the bone by the time we were done! I really had fun learning about Alyssa (she works in a bakery, YUM!) and enjoying her laid back style.

Thanks for spending your Sunday morning with me, Alyssa!

The Last Days of Fall...
Fall is my favorite time of year. The colors, weather, and spice in the air mingle with the last warm rays of the sun, making me yearn for a sea of blankets and hot apple cider. With the last days of fall fast approaching, I had the pleasure of enjoying a shoot with Miss Emma. This classic beauty weathered the freezing wind and cold air with zest. Seriously, isn't she just stunning? I think her radiant smile warmed us both!
